The bodies of two men were found in the Flinders Ranges yesterday afternoon following what’s believed to be a climbing accident.
The alarm was first raised at 1:30pm when their campsite was empty which started a major rescue operation to find the pair.
A 62-year-old man from Norwood and a 44-year-old man from Fairview Park were found dead at Moonarie Climbing Area, which is extremely remote and inaccessible terrain.
STAR Operations are expected to fly to the region today where they’ll help local police and SES volunteers recover the bodies.
Detectives are investigating the circumstances surrounding the men's deaths and will prepare a report for the coroner.
