Three people have been arrested in relation to an incident last month where a man had to be flown to Royal Adelaide Hospital with a punctured lung.
The 33-year-old victim admitted himself to Port Pirie Hospital on Sunday July 21 telling police he was approached by two men on Desteno Street -- when he refused to give them money, one suspect stabbed him.
Investigations revealed the incident occurred in a house on Stanhope Street at Port Pirie West, with a 37-year-old woman, 22-year-old man and 17-year-old girl, all from Port Pirie West arrested.
The 37-year-old woman was arrested for aggravated assault, aggravated intentionally cause harm and aggravated threaten life.
The 22-year-old man and 17-year-old girl have been charged with impeding an investigation.
The 22-year-old man has also been charged with prevent or dissuade a witness while the 17-year-old girl was further charged with destroying evidence.
The man and woman were both bailed to appear in the Port Pirie Magistrates Court on 16 September.
The teenage girl was bailed to appear in the Port Pirie Youth Court on 18 September.
Police wish to reassure the community this was not a random attack, and the offender was known to the victim.
