The Country Health SA Local Health Network is being replaced by six new regional health boards to make key decisions local.
Those boards include the Flinders and Upper North, Eyre and Far North, Barossa Hills Fleurieu, Riverland Mallee Coorong, Limestone Coast and Yorke and Northern Local Health Networks.
CEO of the Flinders and Upper North board Ros McRae said she’s excited to get a number of projects moving.
"I'm looking forward to seeing how the expansion of cancer services at the hospital will improve accessibility for those who need chemotherapy in Whyalla," Ms McRae said.
Flinders and Upper North Governing Board Chair Bevan Francis said having these local health networks allows us to be more responsive to the needs of local communities.
