Past and present residents of Stockport are invited to the 175th anniversary settlement on Sunday August 4th.
Local historian Dennis Berman discovered that the area was first settled in 1844, surveyed the following year and is one of the oldest towns north of Gawler.
The town was a part of the transport route bringing copper ore from Burra and over the years has survived many major floods and fires.
The event coincides with the 150th year of Stockport cemetery.
All interested parties are invited to the celebration, for more details contact Brian 0429 954 221 or Dick 0498 363 380.
