The Port Broughton Combined Sporting Club will use a $350,000 grant to build a new set of change rooms which is almost 10 years in the making.
President of the Broughton Mundoora Football Club Leigh Rogers says the news is extremely welcome and will make a lot of people happy.
"It is fantastic. It has been a long time waiting to get new change rooms, it has been a long time waiting for the whole town," Mr Rogers said.
The change rooms won’t be built till the end of the 2020 football season but in the meantime the local clubs will form a sub-committee to discuss how it will work.
Treasurer of Broughton-Mundoora Football Club Belinda Burt said the new change rooms will help cater to more teams comfortably.
"It will bring in carnivals through the AFL and SANFL that currently we can't house for five teams. We have only got the two little change rooms. It will be a lot easier to have more teams here on the day,” she said.
They have opted to change the open shower setting to cubicles to cater for both females and males using the same change room.
Belinda Burt added that visiting teams and community members often comment on the facilities already, so this upgrade will add to the positivity.
