Are You Being Scammed?

ScammerPolice have issued a reminder that “scammers never take a day off” and often changing their avenues of getting your details.

They say if you receive an unexpected or unsolicited text, email or call, no matter the time or day of the week.

If the message contains a link, it may be a phishing scam while a caller could be trying to scare you usually by saying you owe money somewhere.

The police went on to say “scammers regularly change their methods” so try to stay alert when opening unfamiliar messages.

“Research shows people from all walks of life and age groups can be targeted and vulnerable to fraud.”

Older Australian’s are more susceptible to remote access scams while younger Aussies are more vulnerable to online shopping scams.

SA Police and ScamWatch have scam prevention advice so you can protect yourself and those you love the best you can.
