Solar Power Park in Port Bonython

Solar PanelsPort Bonython now has a 2.12-megawatt ground-mounted solar power system with panels, installed to power the Santos processing plant at Whyalla.

The solar panels will generate over 6 percent of the electricity used at the plant, and is enough to power more than 500 average homes.

Santos Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Kevin Gallagher says this solar installation is their biggest demonstration yet of how they can work with renewable's to not only reduce their carbon emissions but also free up more gas for the domestic markets.
