Works will begin this week on refurbishing the toilet block in the Ada Ryan Gardens in Whyalla.
Starting today, the extensive renovation will bring the toilet facility up to a modern standard and remove the asbestos ceiling.
Temporary fencing will be installed around the toilets and the public is asked to keep its distance from the site while the asbestos is removed.
The foreshore toilets remain open while the new multi-access toilet next to the old block will be available again once the asbestos is removed from the old block.
The council says the $27,000 project is part of a continuous program to assess and upgrade facilities where required.
Works are expected to be completed by June 14th.
