Works are underway on the new $400,000 Whyalla Marina; contractors have started demolishing the old concrete floating walkway pontoons.
Old concrete moorings are being replaced with new welded aluminium braced frames with new mesh, anti-slip decking and floats.
Council Project Officer Sam Bourne says the demolition and construction work is scheduled to be completed by Tuesday, May 28th.
He says the work will replace the existing floating concrete pontoon walkways that were installed sometime in the early 1990s.
The council is asking all visitors to the marina to respect the working area set up to replace the moorings and comply with all signs and directions from the contractors.
