Locals Urged to Brush Up on Fishing Rules

fishing (1).jpgLocals heading out on the Spencer Gulf or around the Yorke Peninsula this Easter and School Holidays are encouraged to brush up on local fishing rules.

Minister for Primary Industries and Regional Development Tim Whetstone says you can't underestimate the importance of knowing SA’s fishing rules before dropping a line or net.

People are encouraged to be open to trying and targeting a range of alternative species on offer in Spencer Gulf waters to relieve pressure from our well-known species.

Fishcare Volunteers will be out and about and Fisheries Officers will be patrolling popular fishing areas and hotspots over the Easter break.
