SA Healthy Towns Challenge Closing Soon

skate park.JPGCommunity groups have just over two weeks to get their applications in for the SA Healthy Towns Challenge.

Uniting Country SA in Port Pirie secured funding in the last round for their FoodHub Health and Wellbeing Project.

The challenge enables rural and regional communities across the state to come up with creative and innovative ways to help improve the health of people in their area.

Grants of up to $50,000 are available to towns that submit projects that focus on improving the health and well-being and that help prevent illness and injury for residents.

The State Government has a share of $1 million available to five towns to implement their preventative health projects.

State Premier, Steven Marshall says the grants will have a focus on initiatives that have measurable results and will provide immediate benefits to the community.

Monday 15 April: Round 2 applications close at 5pm
