Two entrepreneurs from the Clare Valley Wine & Grape Association have been awarded $50,000 through the State Government’s Blockchain Innovation Challenge.
The pair from the Clare Valley won the challenge for their innovative screwcap.
It combines QR code technology and blockchain technology to confirm the authenticity of a bottle of wine.
As part of the Challenge, local entrepreneurs were invited to come up with a concept for how blockchain technology could improve operational efficiency or influence how business, government and society interact.
Premier Steven Marshall says the challenge provides the perfect opportunity for South Australia’s future innovators to present their ideas and receive the financial support to get their projects off the ground.
