The trees were deemed a public risk after a large bough fell into Beauchamp lane from one of the gums, damaging two vehicles.
Further investigation was undertaken after the event which concluded
that future incidents were likely to occur from the offending flora, putting both pedestrians and property at risk.
Arrangements are to be made for the surrounding pavement and asphalt to be repaired after the successful removal of the stumps.
A more suitable species of tree and location will be selected as a replacement for the gums in the park in the near future.
