An Information session regarding the rehabilitation of Bird Lake will be held tonight between 5:30 and 7:30 at the Central Augusta Football and Community Club.
The project, jointly funded by the Port Augusta Council and South Australian Government, seeks to revitalise the site and reduce the potential for the trademark odours of the lake bed to occur.
The intended plan is to cover the algae mats, which cause the offending scent, with soil and native plants.
Current information suggests that work could start as early as March on solving the odorous issue.
