Nominations close this Friday for the Ag Town of the Year award, it aims to highlight the vital role agriculture and other primary industries play in regional communities.
More than 25 individual regional towns have been nominated for the award.
Minister for Primary Industries and Regional Development Tim Whetstone is encouraging regional communities across the Clare Valley and Mid North to get behind the award and nominate their town.
An independent panel will assess the nominations received and select the top five towns to be profiled from April to August as the Ag Town of the Month.
Any regional town in South Australia can be nominated and a town’s involvement in agriculture is not limited to farmers, but includes the wider community that supports the industry.
