A Clare man has won compensation for being injured by a boar while working at a breeding Centre in the Mid North.
The 45-year old man was gored by a 220kg boar, breaking his thigh bone back in May 2015.
The man went back to work in 2016, however, pain in his ankle forced him to stop work altogether in 2017.
The man’s case was disputed by the company who claimed the ankle pain was from the man playing with his dog and not the original injury.
The tribunal dismissed that claim and have ordered the man be paid compensation under the Return to Work Act, with the amount to be worked out next week.
