Yorke Peninsula residents have gotten their wish as plans have been unveiled to upgrade North Coast Road.
The Yorke Peninsula Council is proposing the upgrade to enhance road safety, improve the road standard, reduce dust, improve access and improve rideability.
The road is currently unsealed and has been a key issue with the community.
The upgrades include road sealing, increasing the road width and improving road signage and stormwater drainage.
The Council applied for funding back in May last year through the Special Local Roads Programme to upgrade the 11-kilometre section of road.
They expect the project to cost around $6 million however no timeframe has been released yet.
