The Wallaroo to Lucky Bay ferry service is expected to return early this year following construction on the Eyre Peninsula side’s facilities.
The SEA SA ferry service has not been operational since June 2017 when it paused for a winter break and the vessel was chartered out elsewhere.
A new ferry was due to return in September 2018 but works on the Lucky Bay export/import facility delayed the return of the ferry service.
In August last year, Sea SA announced it would not run for a year for safety reasons while construction of the $115 million project at Lucky Bay was underway.
The ferry has a history of long closures with the service halting for two years over 2015 and 2016.
