Scholarships are now available through the Rural and Regional Enterprise Scholarships program following on from the Federal Governments investment into regional STEM programs.
$58.1 million has been committed for more than 3,150 regional and remote STEM scholarships and students in the region are encouraged to apply.
The move follows two new STEM Centres being built in Whyalla at Long Street and Hincks Avenue primary schools last year.
The scholarships will help students with the costs of studying STEM at university or a Vocational Education and Training institution.
The program can provide funding of up to $18,000, based on course length and type of study or training and a further $500 to support an internship.
Member for Grey Rowan Ramsey says this is the second round in the scholarship program which has already helped 504 regional and remote students to commence study in 2018.
Applications close on Friday 1 February 2019 and offers will be made on 11 February 2019, you can find out more HERE.
