Whyalla Gearing up for Australia Day Fun Run

Australian Flag.jpgWhyalla’s annual Australia Day Fun Run returns next weekend with organisers expecting another big turnout.

Last year more than 350 runners and walkers turned out for this popular 5km event.

The Whyalla Harriers say the fun run has consistently seen more than 300 people turn out for the last few years and this had a lot to do with the friendly, fun nature of the event.

Trophies are up for grabs for the winners in Open Male and Female, U16 Male and Female, U13 Boy and Girl, Masters Male and Female, and Walking Sport Team.

All the proceeds from the event will be donated to charity.

The event is run by the Whyalla Harriers in conjunction with the City of Whyalla Australia Day celebrations which are held later in the afternoon at Ada Ryan Gardens.

Entry fees are $10 for adults and $5 for children and pensioners, you can find out more and register HERE
