The Clare & Gilbert Valleys Council has announced funding of $25,000 is available for owners of State & Local Heritage Places to undertake restoration or conservation work to their property.
The Council’s Manager for Development and Community Andrew Christiansen says the grants could be used for restoration and conservation work such as painting and repairs or to engage design specialists.
The minimum value of work to be undertaken is $2,000, with eligible projects able to seek up to 50% of the total cost of heritage works to a maximum of $5,000.
The funding will be distributed to owners of Heritage Places through a competitive grant process.
Property owners need to apply for a grant before works have begun and work already completed cannot be considered.
It is vital for applicants to discuss their proposal with Council’s planning officers prior to submitting them, in order to determine eligibility.
A list of properties of local and State heritage significance is available from the council’s website, you find out more HERE.
