The Upper Spencer Gulf Mayors have expressed their frustration over difficulties meeting with the new Minister for Regional Development, Tim Whetstone.
Port Augusta Mayor Sam Johnson says they wrote to all the Ministers after the March State election with a report including strategic initiatives to help the region’s economy.
As a result, the Upper Spencer Gulf Mayors have met with the State Treasurer, the Trade and Investment Minister, the Minister for Mining and Energy as well as others.
Six months after the election there has been no response from the Minister for Regional Development, leaving the regions mayors disappointed.
Mr Johnson says there is no other region in the state that is facing such a massive economic transition as the Upper Spencer Gulf.
