Pair Arrested After Traffic Stop Turns South

Police Car.jpgTwo men have been arrested after a traffic stop by police in Port Pirie revealed drugs and house breaking tools in their vehicle.

At around 2:30am yesterday police stopped and searched the vehicle allegedly finding gloves, bolt cutters, hacksaws and a large number of hand tools, allegedly used to commit break-ins.

 The driver, a 47-year-old man from Port Pirie was tested and returned a positive reading for methamphetamine.

The passenger, a 36-year-old man from Adelaide’s North was searched and was allegedly found to be in possession of methamphetamine and an ice pipe.

Both men were arrested and charged with possession of an article to commit an offence.

They were granted bail and will appear in the Port Pirie Magistrates Court at a later date.
