Whyalla Council Saves the Show

The City of Whyalla has stepped in with a generous donation to help the 2018 Whyalla Show after the committee was hit twice this month by thieves.
The Whyalla Show Society’s office was broken into earlier in the month where cash and tickets were stolen, their shed was then broken into with lights, cords and power boxes stolen.
With the show only weeks away the Show Society faced pulling the plug on the show without the lights for operating at night.
The council pledged $2000 to help cover the cost of new lights with CEO Chris Cowley even stepping in to help shop for them.
He says the support from Council wasn’t hard to justify for an event so important for the Whyalla community.
