Spencer Gulf the Renewable Capital of the world

Renewable_energy_generic.jpgThe Spencer Gulf is set to be the renewable capital of the world as projects worth up to $8 billion are lined up for the region creating an abundance of employment opportunities.
The projects will be creating numerous jobs in the area with Independent Frome MP Geoff Brock saying around 4600 workers would be required within the next 12 to 18 months.
If the proposed copper plant at Whyalla goes ahead it would create an additional 500 jobs.
Port Pirie has seven proposed Solar farms on the way and the Carapateena mine in the outback would be worth $900 million and involve up to 700 workers.
At a recent forum in Port Augusta the region was described as an ideal location for renewables like solar thermal, pumped hydro and all with battery storage.
