The Proposal by the Australian Electoral Commission to reduce the number of electorates in the state from 11 to 10 due to the falling state population has been welcomed by Federal member for Grey Rowan Ramsey.
The adjustment of Electoral Boundary lines would result in Mr Ramsey’s seat of Grey gaining 17,719 Electors.
The Northern area of the existing Division of Wakefield is to be transferred into the Division of Grey under the proposal.
Mr Ramsey has said the proposal is broadly in line with his submission to the committee, and that while he knows many of the proposed areas of inclusion, such as Clare and Gilbert Valley, Adelaide Plains and Parts of Light and Wakefield council which is not already in Grey, he’s looking forward to being out and about in them in coming months to ensure he’s well prepared for their inclusion.
Objections to the proposal are able to be submitted until 6 PM this Friday, and can be done HERE
