Whyalla residents still have time to pay a very special tribute to their pets.
The City of Whyalla is building a new pet memorial at the Searle Street dog park and are inviting pet owners to purchase their own paver. The paver can be engraved with the pet’s name, some words and even a hand-drawn image.
The memorial is set to start construction once 100 pavers have been ordered and will be added to as more pavers are ordered.
The memorial comes after requests for a pet cemetery or memorial in the city. As a pet cemetery is unfeasible in a city park, the council decided on the next best option.
All pets are welcome. Each paver costs $45 with a pet’s name or $50 with hand-drawn image. To order a paver, download the form here.
