Port Augusta Mayor Sam Johnson defects to Nick Xenophon's SA Best

nick xenephon.jpgPort Augusta Mayor Sam Johnson has dropped a bombshell; jumping ship to join Nick Xenophon’s SA Best party.
Mr Johnson who was sitting pretty as a possible future Federal Liberal Candidate, has quit the party, apparently, because it failed to support the regions and had no clear vision.
He’ll be the third on an SA Best Upper House ticket, that already has notable scalps like award-winning former journo Frank Pangallo.
Nick Xenophon unsurprisingly has been quick to greet Mr Johnson with open arms, and says by having him on the Upper House ticket, those living in regional SA now have a proper voice.
In the meantime, Mr Xenophon is aiming to field candidates in at least 20 of the 47 Lower House.
