Upper Spencer Gulf cities gain funding on the war on drugs and alcohol

Drugs generic.jpgOur Upper Spencer Gulf cities has been given financial help from the State Government to deal with drugs and alcohol problems.
Port Augusta Alcohol Management Group and the Whyalla Ripples support group, who are both on the frontlines of the battle against alcohol and drugs, will receive $10,000 in funding.
The $10,000 will be an important step to try and stamp out the use of ice and reduce alcohol abuse in local communities.
More broadly, the initiative is part of the government’s $298 million investment over four years to take on illicit drug and alcohol use through the National Ice Action Strategy.
It couldn’t have come any sooner, stats from 2013 to 2017 reveal that over 12 tonnes have been seized by the AFP.
