Kernewek Lowender Copper Coast Cornish Festival is on this weekend

The Kernewek Lowender Copper Coast Cornish Festival begins today and will run until Sunday May 21st.

This unique major cultural festival will be held across the Cooper Coast at Moonta, Wallaroo and Kadina to celebrate the regions significant Cornish heritage.

More than 40,000 people from across the region attended the last festival held in 2015.

The festival will include the traditional maypole and furry dancing as well as thousands of Cornish pasties to be consumed.

The Kernewek Lowender festival has been recognised across the state and most recently was named the 2016 Yorke Peninsula Tourism Awards winner.
