A man will face court after he allegedly set alight two drums full of plastic during a total fire ban in Sydney's west.
Police say they saw the drums on fire - along with evidence of previous fires - when they were called to a Schofields property on Friday morning.
"Fire and Rescue NSW extinguished the blaze and were concerned several fires had allegedly been lit at the property over the past six weeks, posing a risk to the public," NSW Police said in a statement.
A 40-year-old man was arrested and charged with failing to comply with a total fire ban. He's been granted bail ahead of a scheduled appearance at Blacktown Local Court in February.
