Frustrated train travellers across Sydney, already fed up with packed carriages, have been given access to data that shows if they'll get a seat on their daily commute.
Premier Gladys Berejiklian and Transport and Infrastructure Minister Andrew Constance announced Sydney Trains customers will now be able to choose their carriage based on real-time train occupancy data.
"Since 2016, customers have had access to bus occupancy data to help choose the right service for them. Now train customers can see how full their train is before it arrives," Ms Berejiklian said in a statement on Wednesday.
The data will be available for more than 600,000 customer trips on Waratah trains every day.
