A Whyalla local is set to represent Australia in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
Leigh Hoffman will form part of the track cycling team and is due to fly out of the country today.
Leight began cycling at the Whyalla Velodrome when he was just 13-years-old, and over the years has worked his way up to state and then national selection.
He also represented the region at the Commonwealth Games and World Championships in 2022, winning gold at both outings.
Qualifying for the men’s team sprint is set for August 5, the semifinal and final will be held on August 6, and the individual sprints get pedaling from August 7 to 9.
