SAPOL will receive a $12.2 million recruitment package aimed at addressing vacancies and boosting police graduates.
Over three years, the initiative will increase recruitment campaigns, expand graduate courses, and improve vocational pathways.
Additional courses at the SAPOL Academy have already doubled cadet graduates with this investment aiming to graduate over 300 recruits annually and deploy 900 new cadets to the frontline.
The funding supports initiatives such as increased cadet courses, marketing efforts, exploring international recruitment, and developing a schools-based pathway.
It also includes $6.2 million for road safety and $19 million for upgraded interview rooms.
Minister for Police, Joe Szakacs, emphasizes the investment’s multifaceted approach to strengthening SAPOL’s operations.
