Restoration of the Point Lowly Cottages is making headway, a significant step in the awaited upgrade.
Initial work focused on site prep, addressing issues, and clearing interiors with Mayor Phill Stone noting external progress with new concrete slabs completed.
With foundational work done, rapid progress is expected with timber framework construction starting soon.
Stone says he eagerly awaits the facility’s full transformation, a historic draw for tourists on the Northern Coastline.
Collaboration with SA Heritage and Plan SA ensured adherence to property and heritage needs.
The project remains on track for year-end completion, with reopening slated for Q1 2024.
