Local Footy Finals Kick Off

To local footy, and round one of finals got underway for several leagues this weekend…

In the SGL, Sollies defeated PropRisdon in the qualifier – 87 to 79 – to move straight to the decider.

And in the elimination final, Port sent Centrals packing – 99 to 53 – making it an all Port Pirie affair for the remainder of 2024.

Port will face Props next week in the prelim.

In the Northern Areas, Orroroo took down BMW – 85 to 54 – in the qualifying final to go straight through to the Grand Final.

While in the elimination final, Crystal Brook were knocked out by Broughton-Mundoora – 99 to 70.

BMW and Broughton-Mundoora will now face off in the prelim.

And in Whyalla, Roopena defeated West – 69 to 23 – to move on the premiership match for 2024.

And in the elimination final, Central got over South – 58 to 21 – to live to see another weekend.

West and Central will now play in the prelim.

On the YP, Moonta made short work of CMS Crows in the qualifying final, with a final score of 69 to 18.

CMS will have another chance against Bute next week, after Bute knocked out the Southern Eagles – 122 to 77 – yesterday.

Moonta will have to play Central Yorke in the semis.

And in the NEFL, they had one last round to polish off the regular season.

The Southern Saints and BSR stayed true to form on top of the ladder, defeating Min Man and RSMU respectively.

North Clare beat South Clare, and Blyth-Snowtown got over BBH.

Their finals run will kick off next weekend.
