50 firefighters tackle Clinton house fire; Clare restaurant damaged

Approximately 50 firefighters on 10 CFS trucks have responded to a house fire in Clinton, on the Yorke Peninsula.

The blaze was first reported around 3pm yesterday, with CFS crews arriving to find a large house and shed fully engulfed in fire.

Crews were able to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby structures, crops and native scrub.

Unfortunately, the home, shed and two cars were destroyed in the blaze.

Fire Investigators are attending the scene today.

That same day, CFS crews contained a fire in a restaurant kitchen in Clare.

The venue was closed at the time, and around ten firefighters prevented the blaze from spreading to nearby businesses.

Damage is estimated at more than $150,000 – with crews remaining on scene to monitor for hotspots.
